In the 1940’s Psychologists Fritz Heider and Marianne Simmel made this animated film:

They asked people to watch the film and describe what they saw happening. Most of the people saw a powerful story. It was a story of a large triangle bullying the small triangle and the circle steps in and saves the day, causing the large triangle to become angry and destroy the walls.

The question then becomes how did people see a story from a 90-second clip of what could easily be thought of as random moving shapes?

The human brain was created for STORY.
